I use a mixture of turnip swede and potato for the topping. I use a mixture of turnip swede and potato for the topping.
Number of Servings: 4


    1/2 cup, shredded Carrots, raw
    1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions, raw
    1lb Ground beef, lean
    2 cup Mashed Potatoes
    1 cup Chopped tomatoes, canned
    1 serving Beef Stock Cube
    2 cup diced rutabagas/swede


Brown the onions in a non-stick skillet sprayed with cooking spray. Add the carrots and cook for 1 minute, then add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain any fat, then put the mixture into a slow cooker with the tomatoes, stock cube, water and mixed herbs. Cook on high for 2 hours. In the meantime mix the mashed potatoes and swede together well. Remove the crockpot from the slow cooker, season with salt and pepper then evenly spread the potato mixture on top of the meat and cook in the oven at 200C until browned on top.

You may add a little shredded cheddar to the topping but this is not included in the calorie count.
