I use a mixture of turnip swede and potato for the topping. I use a mixture of turnip swede and potato for the topping.
Number of Servings: 3


    Cooking spray
    Ground beef, 8 oz
    Carrots, raw, diced, 0.5 cup
    Onions, raw, chopped,1 medium
    Del Monte Diced Tomatoes, No Salt Added, drained,0.5 cup
    Beef stock cube
    Mixed dried herbs, 1 tsp
    Potatoes, diced, mashed, 2 cups, cubes
    Turnip swede, diced, mashed, 1 cup, cubes


Brown the onions in a non-stick skillet sprayed with cooking spray. Add the carrots and cook for 2 minutes, then add the ground beef and cook until well browned. Drain the fat, then put the mixture into a slow cooker with the tomatoes, stock cube and mixed herbs. Cook on high for 2 hours. In the meantime mix the mashed potatoes and swede together well. Remove the crockpot from the slow cooker and evenly spread the potato mixture on top of the meat and then cook in the oven at 200C until brown on top.
