Introductiona easy solid italian tomato sauce - can be marinara or with meat

3 TBSP olive oil
1 or 2 onions, sliced thin
1 clove garlic, split
1/2 to 1 pound beef, ground
1 can tomato paste
1 large can tomatoes (2 1/2 cups) - crushed
1 TBSP sugar
salt, pepper, cayenne, oregano, and basil to taste.
For best flavor let sauce set a day before using.
add other seasonings such as thyme, parsley, allspice, or a few drops of Worchestire sauce or Tabasco.
Could also add sausage (ground or tube) for a slightly different flavor.
Add ground beef and stir 5 minutes.
Add remaining ingredients and simmer at least 1 hour. (add water as needed).
Serving Size: servings will depend on amount of sauce used
