Introduction

Ingredients

    1/2 cup sugar
    6 Tbsp butter
    1 egg
    1/2 c molasses
    1/4 c hot water
    3 c flour
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    3/4 tsp ginger

Nutrition calculated at 28 medium rolled cookies without icing.


Directions

1. Cream the butter and sugar, beat in egg. Add molasses and water, (I use the hot water to get the last drops of molasses out of the measuring cup). Beat until smooth. Add dry ingredients and mix until a smooth dough forms. Refrigerate dough for an hour or until chilled through. Flour surface, roll 3/8 to 1/4 inch thick and cut out fun shapes. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets. 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 9-10 minutes.

Serving Size: 1 medium rolled cookie (plain) (makes 26-32)
