Remake of my mother-in-laws fried rice. Remake of my mother-in-laws fried rice.
Number of Servings: 6


    6 cups cooked rice
    1 lb. ground pork
    1/2 pckg. frozen peas & carrots
    1 medium onion, chopped finely
    4 eggs, whisked
    1/2 cup soy paste (or sauce use smaller amount)
    1 Tbsp. sesame oil
    1 tsp. white pepper


We use this as a main dish but can be divided into smaller portions and used as a side dish. You could also add any frozen or fresh vegetables you would like. Green onions may also be substituted for yellow onion but add green onions at the end...after the egg.


Make rice in rice cooker with slightly less water for drier texture. When rice is finished remove from rice cooker and separate into two. Pour 1/2 soy paste, 1/2 sesame oil, 1/2 black pepper into each plate of rice.

Heat wok or saute pan to medium-high. Saute 1/2 onions till slightly tender. Add ground pork and brown. Add vegetables and cover till tender.

Add 1 rice plate to meat mixture and stir. Once combined move rice mixture to sides of pan, leaving hole in middle. Pour 1/2 whisked egg into center and stir till scrambled. Stir in rice mixture and let sit till crispy rice on bottom.

Repeat for remaining 1/2 of ingredients.

Serving Size: makes 6 2-cup servings
