    9 1/2 ounces flour, aprox. 2 cups. I used 1/2 all purpose, 1/2 whole wheat pastry flour

    2 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp kosher salt
    1/4 tsp baking soda
    2 ounces unsalted butter cut into small pieces and chilled
    1 c. buttermilk (non-fat)
    20 oz. frozen organic blackberries
    6 oz. frozen organic wild blueberries
    1 c. water
    1/2 c. sugar (Alton's recipe calls for less fruit and twice the sugar, not necessary)
    1/2 tsp. ground ginger (I used fresh grated ginger and a small amount of lemon zest)
