    6 cups tap water
    1 carrot, cut into 2" pieces
    1 stalk celery, cut into pieces
    1 medium onion cut up
    1 clove garlic smashed
    1 bay leaf, whole
    1 tsp parsley flakes
    2 cups vegetable broth
    1 can garbanzo beans (chick peas) drained, rinsed with water and drained again
    salt and pepper to taste


In place of vegetable broth, you can use 2 cups of extra water and 2 vegetable boullion cubes


Bring water to a boil. Add all ingredients and simmer for about 45 to 60 minutes until all vegetables are soft. Remove bay leaf. Remove veggies from broth with a slotted spoon and put into a blender with some of the broth . Blend for a short time. Add salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!
