    Lentils, 1 lb package
    Onions, raw, 2 medium diced
    Carrots, raw, .75 cup, grated
    Water, tap, 6 cups
    low sodium chicken broth, 4 cup
    Ground Cumin seed, .25 tsp
    Sage, ground, .25 tsp
    Thyme, ground, .5 tsp
    Pepper, red or cayenne, Pinch
    Cloves, ground, .Pinch
    Bay Leaf, 1 leaf
    Tomatoes, canned, with green chilies, 1 can
    Pork Ribs, country style, 6 oz Bone removed Ham Bone would work just fine
    Mushrooms, fresh, 1 cup, pieces or slices


Place lentils in Crockpot then in a frying pan sauté onions, garlic and mushrooms in with cooking spray until light golden. Add broth and water, lentils and all but the carrots of the remaining ingredients counting the pork rib to the crockpot , cook for 2 hours and 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. add carrots and cook another 15 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste and serve with a dollop of yogurt or sour cream on top with a sprinkle of parsley.
