Number of Servings: 16


    4 1/2 tsp yeast (2 packets)
    5 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
    2 1/2 cups water
    1 tsp salt


Dissolve yeast in water. Stir in flour and salt, adding flour enough to make a stiff dough. Knead well until dough is smooth and elastic. Let rise until doubled. Punch down and let rise again. Divide in half; turn out onto greased baking pans or cookie sheets and shape. Top as desired and bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or as needed until done.
