This recipe is a one pot wonder with a spicy kick and some much needed protein! This recipe is a one pot wonder with a spicy kick and some much needed protein!
Number of Servings: 6


    1 Package Louis Rich Smoked Turkey Sausage
    1 lb Raw Shrimp
    1 Package of Red Beans & Rice Mix
    1 Can NO SALT ADDED Tomatoes
    1 Small Onion


Dice small onion.
Slice Turkey Sausage into 1" Rounds
Peel and Clean Shrimp
Open can on Tomatoes-pour out juice into measuring cup.

Makes 6 Servings

In a large Saucepan:
In Medium Heat Sweat onion in a spritz of cooking oil spray until transluscent-not browned.
Add turkey sausage. Raise heat to medium high and Cook until slightly browned.
Add tomatoes.
Add Rice and Beans Mix.
Add necessary amount of water to saved tomato juices to obtain reccommended amount of liquid (see rice and beans cooking directions)
Add liquid to pot and raise heat to high.
Stir and bring to a heavy simmer.
Cover and take heat down to Medium/Medium Low. Check and stir occassionally to keep it from sticking.
Remove from heat once rice is cooked
Add Shrimp and stir-the heat from the rice will cook the shrimp.
Be sure that the shrimp are pink and cooked through before serving.
