Ingredients

    Split Peas, Dried 340 grams (12 oz. package)
    Sherry, dry, 1 fl. oz
    Onions, raw, 1 large, chopped
    Carrots, raw, 4, chopped
    Celery, raw, 4 stalks, chopped
    Green Peppers (bell peppers), 0.5 cup, chopped
    Cilantro, raw, 6 tbsp, chopped
    Garlic, 3 cloves, minced
    Chicken Bouillon Cubes, Berkley & Jensen, 2 cubes
    3 Bay leaves
    2 tsp. cajun seasoning blend
    Additional salt and pepper to taste

    Place all ingredients in large pot with 8 cups of water and simmer for 2 hours. Remove bay leaves. Serve with a scoop of rice if desired.
