Ingredients

    1.75 C lukewarm water
.25 C melted margarine (Earth Balance used for calculation of nutrition) or vegetable oil
    3 TB honey
    2 tsp salt
    3 C unbleached all-purpose flour
    1 C whole wheat flour
    1 C rolled oats
*2/3 C hulled sunflower seeds, unsalted
    2.25 tsp active dry yeast

Tips

*If your machine has a signal for adding nuts, raisins, etc., later in the cycle. add the sunflower seeds at that point. Otherwise add them right before the yeast.

Directions

Add the ingredients to a bread machine in the order listed (see note in Tips about sunflower seeds). Set on "Dough" cycle. At end of cycle, transfer dough to lightly greased bowl, cover it for an hour or until it doubles in bulk. Shape into a loaf and place in a well-greased 9 x 5 loaf pan. Light cover, and allow it to rise for about 30 minutes, until it is one to two inches over the top of the pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until it tests done. Remove from pan to cool on wire rack.

Serving Size: Makes one loaf, about 15 slices. Sometimes too much for one loaf pan.
