This is a low carb version of normal cottage pie. Kind of. I made it my own. This is a low carb version of normal cottage pie. Kind of. I made it my own.
Number of Servings: 6


    For the meat mixture:
    500g beef mince
    100g frozen peas
    400g tinned chopped tomatoes
    1 tbsp Schwartz seasoning
    2 dash salt

    150g double cream
    3 large eggs

    500g cauliflower
    20g butter


Season up the mince in a bowl as needed. Cook until brown.
Add the peas and tinned chopped tomatoes and mix well. Cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
Remove lid and some of liquid if required.
Spread mixture in a large dish.

Whilst the meat is simmering, boil a large pan of water and chop up cauliflower and cook for 15 minutes, or until cauliflower is tender (should be able to easily stick a fork into it).
Drain and mash the cauliflower with 15g butter.

Whisk together the cream and egg. Pour this over the meat mixture. This will help it set.
Top the whole thing with the mashed cauliflower evenly. Run a fork along the top to help it get crispy once cooked.

Cook at 190oC (gas mark 5) for 40 mins, or until golden brown and set.

Serving Size: Divide into 6 pieces
