Perfectly cooked brown rice in the oven, everytime! Perfectly cooked brown rice in the oven, everytime!
Number of Servings: 6


    2 1/2 cups Water
    1 1/2 cups long grain brown rice
    1 can diced tomatoes, no salt added
    1 tsp kosher salt
    1 tbsp unsalted butter
    1 tbsp oregano
    1 tsp black pepper
    2 garlic cloves, grated


Try different combinations of herbs and spices, or even add some diced veggies if you like! Using homemade veggie or chicken stock adds even more flavor.


Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine water, salt, and butter in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Meantime, spray a 8x8 baking dish with cooking spray. Drain tomatoes. Combine all ingredients in baking dish, pour boiling water mixture over rice mixture and cover tightly with aluminum foil. Bake on middle oven rack for 1 hour. After 1 hour, remove foil and fluff rice with a fork.

Serving Size: Makes 6 1/2 cup servings
