Number of Servings: 2

    4 slices whole wheat Bread
1/2 cup oats (I used Quaker Oats Brand)
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup non fat milk
    1 tsp cinnamon powder
    1/2 tsp nutmeg
    PAM spray

I like it plain but my son loves maple syrup on them.

1. In a shallow bowl/plate add milk and whisk in nutmeg and cinnamon. In another plate combine brown sugar and oats, and mix well making sure to break up the sugar.

2. Heat the pan on medium heat and spray with PAM. Dip the bread into the milk mixture for 1 second- do it really quickly making sure not to completely soak the bread. You just want it to be moistened for the crunchy oats to stick, and the cinnamon and nutmeg to seep in. Then coat with the oats-sugar mixture, pressing in making sure its thouroughly covered.

3. Place on the hot pan and cook about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden and crispy.

Serving Size: makes enough for 4 slices of bread

Interesting no egg french toast recipe. Was interested to see if it works. Needed to cook slowly to get crispy, Used a low calorie bread, soy milk, and Swerve Sugar replacement. Like oatmeal as a healthy coating. I think bread choice and sugar choice may make a big difference in how this works out. - 10/5/16
