8 - 12 prune plums, halved and pitted
    1/2 cup packed brown sugar
    2 tbsp All Purpose Flour
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 cup cold butter
    3/4 cup granulated sugar
    1/2 cup butter, room temperature
    2 eggs
    1 tsp vanilla
1, 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/2 cup milk
    3/4 cup icing sugar
    1 tbsp milk

Make sure cake is warm and not hot for glazing.

Stir together sugar, flour, cinnamon. Cut in butter until crumbly. Set aside.
Beat sugar and butter with mixer until fluffy, mixing eggs well, one at a time. Add vanilla. In separate bowl, sift flour, baking powder, salt. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture alternating with milk. Pour batter into lightly buttered 9-in springform pan. Arrange plums, cut sides up on top of batter; sprinkle with topping. Bake in oven at 350 degree F for about 1 hour, testing for doneness. Cool in pan on rack, 10 min.
Stir together icing sugar, milk and almond extract until smooth. Drizzle glaze over warm cake. Run a knife around edge of pan: release side of pan.
