Ingredients

    1 lbs. lean ground beef
    1 large onion, chopped
    4 or 5 cloves of garlic, chopped
    5 med. fresh tomatoes. skinned and seeded or 28 oz. can of no salt chopped tomatoes
    2 6 oz. cans tomato paste (20 mg of sodium)
    1/2 c. dry red table wine
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. dry oregano
    1 tsp. dry basil
    1/2 tsp fennel seed
    1/2 tsp italian seasoning
    1/8 tsp. black pepper
    8 oz. spaghetti, cooked with no salt

Directions

Brown ground beef, onion, and garlic in a large sauce pan. Add seasonings and tomato paste and continue cooking for 2 to 3 minutes watching to make sure paste does not burn. Add wine and simmer for another 2 min. Add tomatoes and sugar.and simmer on low for 1 1/2 hrs. Mix with cooked pasta and serve with parmesan cheese.
