    1 3/4 c. lentils, rinsed
    2 cups water
    1 whole bay leaf
    2 tsp salt
    1/4 white pepper
    1/8 tsp each of marjoram, sage, thyme
    2 large onions, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    2 cups canned tomatoes
    2 large carrots, slice 1/8" thick
    1/2 cup thinly sliced celery
    1 green pepper, chopped
    2 T. finely chopped parsley


Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine all ingredients in a 9" x 13" baking dish. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 1 hour 15 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
