    1 1/2 Cup Shortening
    2 Cup Sugar
    2 Eggs
    1 Tsp Vanilla
    1/2 Tsp Salt
    4 Tbsp Ginger, ground
    1/2 Cup Molasses
    4 Tsp Baking Soda
    4 Cups Flour


Mix ingredients in order. Be sure to mix the baking soda into the molasses separately and then add it to the rest of the mixture. Roll into small balls, dip in sugar before placing on cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 7-8 minutes.
Frosting is optional, but add it while the cookies are still warm.
