    Butter, 1 tbsp
    Beef chuck, stew meat 16 oz
    Lea & Perrins, Worcestershire Sauce, 1 tsp
    Garlic, 2 cloves chopped
    Onions, raw, 1 medium chopped in lg. pieces
    Bay Leaf, 2
    Salt, 1 tbsp
    Granulated Sugar, 1 tsp
    Pepper, black, .5 tsp
    Paprika, .5 tsp
    Carrots, raw, 6 medium -quartered
    Baking potatoes, 4 -skinned and quartered


In a large stew pot, brown meat in 1 tbsp of butter. Turning often. Add 2 cups of water and ingrediants 3-10. Cover and let simmer for 1 hour.
Stir occasionally. Remove Bay leaves. Add carrots and potatoes. Cover and cook for 30-45 minutes, or until vegetables are tender.
