Number of Servings: 8


    3/4 cup warm water
    1 1/8 tsp yeast
    2 1/4 cups flour (I use 2 cups white whole wheat flour)
    1 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
    1 Tbsp sugar
    1 tsp salt


Use the dough hook attachment in your stand mixer, makes it much easier.


Begin by dissolving the yeast in the warm water, in the bottom of your mixing bowl.
Add the melted butter, sugar and salt to the mixture.
Add the flour; and mix the flour in using the dough hook.

Shape into 8 breadsticks.
Allow the dough to rest on your baking sheet, covered for 45 minutes.
Bake at 400 degrees F for 10 minutes.


After 5 minutes of baking, brush on this mixture: 1 Tbsp melted butter, 1 tsp seat salt and 1 tsp garlic powder and bake 5-6 more minutes brushing on a little more when they come out of the oven.

These are great plain so that topping isn't totally necessary.
