Introduction

This is an delicious sweet pepper sauce based on the sauce the California Pizza Kitchen uses on their Jamaican Jerk Pizza. I use it on my Jamaican Jerk Black Bean Burgers (also on SparkRecipes). Ingredients

    Jamaican Jerk Sweet Pepper Sauce:

    1 1/2 Cup Water

    1/4 Cup Cold Flour

    1 Cup Sweet Chili Sauce (in Asian Foods or BBQ Sauce section)

    3 TBSP Jerk Seasoning

    1 Large Red Bell Pepper

    1 Large Yellow Bell Pepper

    1 Bunch Green Onion

Directions

1. Loosely chop peppers and onions.

2. Mix cold flour and cold water in a saucepan. After mixed without lumps, add seasoning and sweet chili sauce and mix.

3. Cook mixture on medium-high heat and let boil for at least 2 minutes.

4. After mixture has boiled, reduce heat to medium-low and add veggies. Simmer veggies and sauce mixture for about 15 minutes until soft.

5. Put mixture in food processor and blend until pureed.

6. Serve hot or cold. Will last in the refridgerator for about 5 days.




Serving Size:  2 TBSP per serving. Makes about 3 cups of sauce (50 TBSP).
