    1c. all purpose flour
    1 egg
    1c nonfat milk
    8c low sodium chicken broth


consistency of batter should be similar to oatmeal, add more flour a tbsp at a time if needed to reach correct thickness.
If serving with soup cook dumpling first then transfer to soup before serving.
If dumplings stick to bottom of pan gently loosen with spoon.
You can use buttermilk if you like just remember to adjust nutrition info to account for calorie and fat content.


bring chicken broth to a slow boil. combine flour, egg, and milk in a mixing bowl stirring well to form a thick paste. drop by heaping tablespoon full into gently boiling broth. cook about five to eight minutes. dumplings will float when done.
