My Grandmothers recipe. My Grandmothers recipe.
Number of Servings: 4


    4 boneless pork loin chops
    1 tablespoon cooking oil
    1 large onion chopped
    4 cups fresh or frozen cut green beans
    salt and pepper to taste
    4 tablespoons oil
    1/4 cup all purpose flour
    4 cups water


In a large pot add oil, when heated add onion, cook onion until it is tender then add porkchops and brown on each side adding salt and pepper to season. Now add green beans and water. When water begins to boil turn heat down to med low and simmer for about 30 minutes, covered. Now in a small skillet heat oil and add flour, turn heat down to medium and stir constantly until flour is a dark golden brown. Remove from heat. Now turn heat up on the pork and green beans and when it begins to boil add the roux (browned flour) to the pork and grean beans and stir it in really well. When the gravy has thickened it's done. Now you can adjust the seasoning to taste.

Serving Size: 4 cops and 2 cups green beans and gravy
