Number of Servings: 40

Ingredients

    2 cups boiling water
    1 cup Quaker Oats
    1/2 cup honey
    2 TBS fat free margarine
    2tsp salt
    0.25 ounce yeast
    1/2 cup warm water
    4 cups flour

Directions

Makes 2 loaves, 20 slices per loaf

1. combine boiling water, oats, margarine, honey and salt in a boil for 1 hr.
2. Combine yeast and warm water for 10 minutes
3. Add all ingredients to bread machine using dough setting (takes about 1hr 30 mins)
4. Take the bread dough out of the machine and knead. Separate into two piles of dough (made need a little more flour because sometimes it is a little sticky).
5. Spray two loaf pans with Pam and set the dough in the pans. Cover with a damp paper towl and let rise for 45 more mins.
6. Preheat the oven to 375 and bake for 30 mins.

    This bread is very good. It is makes great toast and sandwiches. I can also be made dairy free very easily for an vegans, lactose intolerant or dairy allergy people out there. - 3/1/08
