a medium to large onion chopped
a minced carrot
2 finely chopped celery sticks
3 minced garlic cloves
2 can of kidney beans (you may use the juice or rinse and add water)
2 cans of tomato chunks (if your short a can of tomato pasta w/ water would make up the difference - and smackers, during tomato season ,fresh toms work well!!!!)
a package of Jennie O O lean ground turkey meat, 20oz
seasoning pack -whichever you like or from scratch
...also if you rinse the beans you may lower the salt level by a ton!!!
...and you can add other elements to this chili, green peppers, red bell peppers, corn, olives...it's a dish that you can really play with.
...this is also great to make for leftovers...easy lunches to go or a nice dinner for no cooking the next night!
add the meat and brown it
add the seasoning pack/or scratch seasoning
add the beans & tomatoes
lower the heat and let simmer for 45 minutes
