    2 large English hot house cucumbers
    1/2 large red onion, thinly sliced
    1 tablespoon salt
    1/2 cup sour cream
    1 teaspoon dried dill weed


Pare and thinly slice cucumbers. Thinly slice one-half of a large red onion. Place both in a large bowl and cover with water. Add salt and cover. Let stand several hours or overnight if possible. Drain then squeeze dry the cucumbers and onion. Mix with sour cream and dill. Refrigerate until serving time.

Serving Size: makes 6 1/2 cup servings
