Just a turkey chilli that I throw together and serve with corn bread. Just a turkey chilli that I throw together and serve with corn bread.

    54 oz of lean ground turkey
    2 cans of small chili beans
    1 can of tomato sauce
    1 can of chilli ready tomatoes
    2 pk of mild chili seasoning mix
    other seasoning to taste
    I do chop onion up and add it to the meat when it cooks. I add garlic powder, onion powder, and a little chilli powder to taste.


This is a very thick and meaty chilli which is how my family and I like our chilli. Some people prefer a juicier chilli and in that case feel free to add more tomato sauce or a bit less meat. This can also be adapted using tofu or TVP to make it a fairly vegetarian version.


Brown meat and finely chopped onion in a skillet with a little water to keep it from sticking. Add chilli seasoning mix and other spices to taste. Transfer to a large dutch over, stock pot, or slow cooker. Add chilli beans (I rinse one can and leave the juice in the other cuts down on some calories). Then add tomato sauce and chilli ready tomatoes. Add addition chilli seasoning packet and other seasoning to taste and let simmer for at least 30 minutes but preferably for longer as it helps the flavor. When it has simmered long enough serve with grated cheese and corn bread for a hearty meal.
