Introduction

Whole wheat flour, regular sugar & applesauce! Whole wheat flour, regular sugar & applesauce!
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    1 cup mashed banana
    1 cup whole wheat flour
    1/4 cup sugar
    1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
    1 tbsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    1 large egg

Tips

I'm sure you could use another baking sweetener to make calories even lower, but I tried to keep mine all natural. Using less applesauce (I've seen many recipes suggest 1/4 cup) will make the muffins less dense, but I prefer a hefty muffin with my coffee! As usual, mini-muffins will require less cooking time!


Directions

Preheat oven to 325.
Spray pans or use cupcake liners.
Mix all dry ingredients, mix all wet ingredients.
Combine all ingredients and mix thuroughly.
Distribute evenly into cups and bake.

Serving Size: makes 12 muffins or 24 mini-muffins
