    8 medium strawberries
    1 cup blueberries
    1 cup raspberries
    2/3 cup malt-o-meal, dry cereal
    3 1/4 cup water
    8 tsp brown sugar
    4 tsp maple syrup


I drink one cup of lowfat milk with this for protein.

The berries with maple syrup also work great over pancakes.

If you prepare the fruit the night before and let it "marinate" in the maple syrup in the fridge over night, it will be even more juicy and flavorful. Just make sure you set it out in time so that it can warm up to room temperature for the fullest aroma.


Wash the fruit. Cut the strawberries in slices and cut the slices in half. Mix the berries with 4 tsp maple syrup. Bring water to a boil in a medium saucepan and stir in the brown sugar. Gradually stir in the malt-o-meal with a whisk and turn the heat to low for a light boil. Continue stirring while cooking for 2 1/2 minutes. Serve the cereal in bowls and spread fruit and syrup over it. Enjoy!
