Introduction

Basic, easy recipe for a delicious substitute-tuna salad. Basic, easy recipe for a delicious substitute-tuna salad.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 can chickpeas/garbanzo beans, mashed
    1/2 cup of celery, chopped
3 tbsp mayonnaise (or to taste)
a pinch of Dulce seaweed flakes for a fishy taste (optional)
a dash of onion powder, to taste (optional)

Tips

You can basically treat this as you would a tuna salad. My own recipe is pretty simple; I don't like mustard or relish very much, so I opt out of using it in both tuna and mock tuna salads. So feel free to mess around with this as much as you like!

Directions

Wash chickpeas. Pour into bowl and mash with fork or potato masher until soft. Wash and chop celery, then mix into bowl. Add mayonnaise, onion powder, and Dulce flakes. Voila! Put into sandwiches, on top of salads, whatever you like!
