Number of Servings: 5


    3/4 cup sugar
    3 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
    2 cups boiling water
    juice of 1 lemon (3 tbsp bottled lemon juice)
    2 beaten egg whites

    2 egg yolks
    1 tsp cornstarch
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 scant cup milk (1% in calculations)


Looks great in stemmed glasses like those used for parfaits.


Beat egg whites until stiff and hold peaks.
Mix cornstarch and sugar and stir in boiling water. Cook over medium heat until thick and clear. Stir in lemon juice, fold in egg whites gently, and pour in bowls.
Blend egg yolks, cornstarch, and sugar. Add milk and cook over medium heat until thick. Pour into bowls in center of dish (makes sun on the snow).

Serving Size: Makes 5-6 servings-5 used in calculations
