    2 cups dry pinto beans
    28oz can crushed tomatoes
    2 cups chopped red onion
    2 cups chopped red pepper
    14 oz gimme-lean ground sausage style TVP
    6oz no sodium added tomato juice
    6 garlic cloves
    5 red chili peppers
    2 tsp. oregano
    2 tsp. basil
    2 tsp. chili powder
    2 tsp. cumin
    2 tbsp. fresh cilantro
    1 tsp. red wine vinegar
    1 tbsp. raisins


soak dry beans overnight in water.
cover beans in large pot and simmer for 2 hours. reserve 16 oz of water from the pot. drain the rest.
take half of the beans and puree them and return them to the pot with the remaining beans. add the rest of the ingredients to the pot and simmer for 1 hour. makes 4 large servings.
