Introduction

old meat ball recipe as taught by my mother old meat ball recipe as taught by my mother
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    400 g minced meat
    1paprika diced (100 g)
    1 onion diced (100 g)
    1 slice bread (approx. 50 g)
    50 ml of skimmed milk
    1 egg
    add salt, pepper, paprika spice etc. for your liking
    soak bread in milk and add
    mix all together (best with your hand)

    dice cheese in cubes

    use table spoon to portion, form balls, put cheese cube into middle.

    beat left over egg on plate, roll meat ball in egg and then in bread crumbs, fry in pan (with the oil) until done.

    makes 12


Tips

I usually top frying with water to keep meatballs moist and to avoid burning. Never put extra oil in.
balls taste also very good as left overs cold on bread with mustard

    My kids and I loved the idea of cheese inside the meatball, but I did not want to fry them, so I made a baked version instead (30 mins at 400 degrees). These are a fun idea and a hit with the kids. :D - 5/22/14
