Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

    1 cup cold water

1-2 tablespoons lemon juice (I just squeeze half a lemon's worth of juice.)

1 thin slice of lemon (optional) OR use 1 teaspoon lemon juice

5 teaspoons sugar (or to taste)

Tips

Feel free to use splenda/stevia/any artificial sugar to take place of the regular sugar. Honey also makes a great choice!

Recipe can be multiplied to make a pitcher.

Directions

Squeeze the lemon juice (or pour from bottle of lemon juice) and add cold water. Set aside.

Take the slice of lemon (or one teaspoon of lemon juice) and add sugar. Muddle with a spoon until sugar begins to dissolve. When using a lemon slice, the goal is to juice the slice of lemon to moisten the sugar and begin the process of dissolving it. Otherwise, just stir the lemon juice and sugar.

Pour the cold water/lemon juice mixture into the muddled sugar/lemon slice. Stir vigorously to incorporate sugar.

Either strain out the lemon slice or leave it as a garnish. If desired, add ice.

Enjoy
