Introduction

Ingredients

Indian, Aromatic Basmati Rice, 1 cup, 1 serving
Olive Oil, 2 1tsp
Bay Leaf, 1 leaf, whole
*Hot Chili Peppers, 1 pepper, chopped
*Cumin seed, 1 tbsp
Ginger Root, 1 tsp, paste or grated
Salt and pepper to taste.
Any fresh vegetables on hand like carrots, peppers, potato, onion, etc. All vegetables chopped.
Tips
I eat this with Raita, plain yogurt or mango pickle.
Other seasonings can used like tamarind seasoning, lemon rice seasoning or even Cajun seasonings.
You may need to omit salt if the seasoning you are using already contains salt.
Directions
Wash and soak rice. In a deep pan, add olive oil, bay leaf, chili peppers, cumin seed, ginger root, and any vegetable that you would like to add. Cook for a few min. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Rinse rice, add to mixture, and 2 cups of water. Bring to boil, cover and simmer for 15 min. Turn off heat and let sit for another 5 min.
Stir and serve,
Serving Size: 4 Servings or use as a side dish
