    Split Peas, 1.5 cup
    Onions, raw, .5 medium
    Baby Carrots, raw, 10 medium
    Water, tap, 6 cup
    Salt to taste (I use about .75 teaspoon)
    Pepper to taste (I use a LOT)
    Paprika (just a sprinkle)


1. Sautee onion in a few tablespoons of water for about 5-6 minutes or until translucent.

2. Add chopped carrots and cook for another 5 minutes or so.

3. Add water, split peas, and spices. Bring to boil and then lower heat to med-medium low. Cook down for 50-60 minutes (or longer, if you like a thicker soup).

4. Makes about 5 1-cup servings.
