    2 tbsp butter
    3 tbsp flour
    1 tsp garlic powder
    1/2 cup water
    900 mL (1 carton) Low Sodium Chicken Broth
    1 cup 1% milk
    2 tbsp cornstarch (optional)
    2 tbsp cold water (optional)
    2 tsp chicken oxo
    1 large head of broccoli


Top with a little shredded cheese when serving.


1. Cook broccoli in boiling water until almost done. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of the water.
2. Melt butter in pot, mixing in flour once melted. Cook for a few minutes, then add garlic powder and chicken oxo.
3. Add broth, milk and reserved water.
4. Bring to a boil. Allow to thicken. If the soup isn't thick enough, stir the 2 tbsp cold water into the 2 tbsp corn starch and add to the broth. It should thicken quickly.
5. Add broccoli and reduce heat. Simmer for ten minutes.
6. Serve.
