    For the Crust:
    1 cup flour
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/3 cup butter, cut into small pieces
    1/4 cup sour cream

    For the Topping:
    3 cups apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
    1/2 cup cour cream
    3 egg yolks
    1 cup sugar
    1/4 flour
    1 tesaspoon vanilla


Tools needed which is not typically used for basic receipes: 9-in spring form pan, pastry blender


1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease the pan and set it aside.
2. Pur the flour, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl and whisk them together. Add the butter. Cut it into the flour with your fingertips or a pastry blender. When the mixture looks like a small crumbs, stir in the 1/4 cup of sour cream.
3. Press the mixture evenly over the bottom of the pan. Bake the crust about 20 to 25 minutes, or until it is lightly browned. Put the pan on a cooling rack and let it cool slightly.
4. For the topping arrange the apples slices on the crust.
5. Whisk together the soucr cream, egg yolks, sugar, flour, and vanilla. Pour this mixture over the apples.
6. Bake the Kuchen for about 45 minutes. Test the kuchen for doneness. When a knife tip inserted into the center comes out clean, it is done.
7. Put the pan on a cooling rack until it is cool enough to handle. Release the clasp on the side of the pan and lift it off. You can leave the kuchen on the bottom of the pan.
