This super moist turkey meatballs are tasty and filling! This super moist turkey meatballs are tasty and filling!
Number of Servings: 10

20 oz Jenny-O Extra Lean Ground Turkey
    1.5 Tbsp Italian Seasoning
    2 Eggs
    1/2 cup skim milk
1 and 1/4 cups of bread crubs (do not used seasoned b/c of added salt)
    1/2 cup Green Bell Pepper
    1/2 cup diced white onion
1/2 cup Reduced Fat Kraft Parmasan Cheese
    2 tsp Minced Garlic

Normally I cook my (beef) meatballs in the sauce. However, with turkey meatballs browning them in a pan gives them a little more flavor.

I cook these the day before we are going to eat them. The sauce always tastes better the next day! Leftovers can be used for a nice meatball cub with low fat cheese on a whole grain roll!

To make these "cleaner" replace the Kraft Parmasan Cheese with regular Parmasan or Romano cheese. When using these strong cheeses often you can cut the amount and still get great flavor.

Extra lean ground beef can also be used if you don't eat ground turkey.

Using ground beef with the same recipe per serving (2 meatballs) adds about:
90 calories
11 grams of fat
6 grams saturated fat
20 miligrams cholesterol

Mix all ingredients together in a big bowl. If the consistancy is too wet add more breadcrumbs, if it is too dry add a little splash of milk at a time until it comes together. Then pick up a golf ball size amound and roll it into a ball with your hands. From one package of Jenny-O Extra Lean Ground Turkey I get 20 -25 meatballs. It all depends on how big you make them.

Coat skillet with 1/2 tbsp of Olive Oil and heat on medium. Cook meatballs about 20-30 minutes or until slightly brown on all sides and then add to your sauce. I recommend that you let them continue cooking in the sauce for a couple of hours. If you are eating with sauce cut one in the middle and check to see that it is cooked in the middle.

*I will also post my sauce recipe to go with these*

Serving Size: Makes 20 meatballs a little larger than a golf ball, 1 serving is 2 meatballs

Number of Servings: 10
