Introduction

This is a great, low carb meal that I came up with when doing The South Beach Diet. It's a very simple & quick meal to feed the whole family. This is a great, low carb meal that I came up with when doing The South Beach Diet. It's a very simple & quick meal to feed the whole family.

Ingredients

    3 lbs Ground Turkey
    2 cans Navy Beans
    6 tbsp Chili Powder
    3 tbsp Season Salt
    4 cups Water

Tips

I stretch this meal for my family by cooking a pot of brown rice to have the chili over. It increases the calories and carb amounts, but you don't need much of either to be full. So you can still have a good balanced meal.

Directions

Season ground turkey and cook in a skillet, uncovered. When ground turkey is cooked, if any liquid was produced drain it out before continuing. Add 2 cans of navy beans, 4 cups of water, and chili powder and other seasonings to taste. I like to put some oregano and a little salt & pepper to add to the flavor. Cover the pot and let the chili cook to a slight boil. Turn off fire and let stand for about 5 minutes before serving.
