Harissa adds an exciting spicy taste to ground lamb. Harissa adds an exciting spicy taste to ground lamb.
Number of Servings: 1


    Lamb, ground, 18 0z
    Onion, raw, chopped, 1/2 cup
    Garlic, 1 clove, finely chopped
    Ketchup, 4 tbsp
    Beef stock powder, 1 teasp
    Egg white, 1
    Harissa middle eastern spices, 2 teasp
    Breadcrumbs, dry, grated 1/3 cup


Put all ingredients except breadcrumbs into a bowl and mix with hands. Form into 12 balls. Roll in breadcrumbs.

Heat barbeque or large fry pan. Coat with cooking spray. When hot, add meat, pressing each ball to flatten it to about 2cm. Meat is cooked when there is no redness inside the centre.

Serve with plain yoghurt, pita bread and salad. Best eaten rolled up in the bread, like a sausage roll.
