    1/2 cup whole wheat all purpose flour
    1/2 cup unbleached all purpose flour
    1/4 cup rolled oats
    1 Tbsp baking power
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp cinnamon

    1 large egg
    2/3 cup nonfat milk
    1/4 cup canola oil
    1/4 cup honey
    3/4 cup chopped apple

    Streusel topping:
    1/4 cup packed brown sugar
    2 Tbsp all purpose flour
    2 Tbsp rolled oats
    1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
    1 Tbsp light margarine


Measure the first 6 ingredients into a large bowl. Stir. Make a well in the centre.

Combine the next 4 ingredients in a small bowl. Add apple. Stir. Add to well in centre of dry ingredients. Stir just until moistened. Fill 12 greased or paper lined muffin cups 3/4 full.

Topping: Combine first 3 ingredients in small bowl. Cut in margarine. Sprinkle over top of muffin batter. Bake in 400F oven for 15 to 20 minutes until a wooden pick inserted in centre of muffin comes out clean. Let stand in pan for 5 minutes. Remove muffins from pan and place on wire rack to cool. makes 12 muffins.
