    1 medium pear
    2 T pecans
    1 T raisins
    2 tsp brown sugar
    1/4 C OJ (natural not from concentrate)
    dash of salt
    splash of cinnamon and vanilla for taste


1. Preheat the oven to 375F.
2. Spread the pecans evenly in a single layer on a small baking sheet. Bake for 3-4 minutes, or until lightly toasted. Set aside.

3. Place the orange juice, brown sugar, cinnamon,vanilla and salt in a small saucepan, and heat over medium high heat until small bubbles begin to break the surface. Continue to cook for two minutes, stirring constantly with a wire whisk, until slightly thick. Add the raisins and pecans, Remove from heat.

4. Place the pear, cored side up, in a single layer in a small baking dish. Spoon the fruit mixture evenly into the cored portion of the pear. Drizzle with the fruit syrup.

5. Bake the pears for 10-15 minutes at 375F.

6. Make sure not to overcook or the pecans and raisins will scorch.

Serving Size: 1 pear makes 2 servings
