1 lb lean Venison (or any lean ground beef)
2 cups (or so) beef broth or bouillon
1/2 large onion diced
3 garlic cloves minced
1 28 oz. can diced tomatoes
1 can small tomato paste
1 lb frozen mixed vegetables (half large bag - about 3 cups)
1/3 cup flour
4 medium potatoes, cubed.
For more flavor, brown meat before adding to crockpot. For less fat, drain meat before adding to crockpot. Some fat helps open up flavors in stew. I sprinkled some parmesan cheese on mine and loved it!
For more italian flavors, use marjoram, thyme, and oregano.
Cook on high until meat is completely browned
Add cubed potatoes
Add tomatoes and tomato paste.
Add salt, pepper, bay leaf, rosemary, garlic powder, onion powder add flour and incorporate.
Simmer until potatoes are soft then add heated vegetables to stew.
Simmer for an additional 20-30 minutes and enjoy.
Serving Size: Makes about 8 1-1 1/2 cup servings
