1 lb beef stew meat Cut Small
    4 cups water
    2 beef boullion cubes
    1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    1 clove garlic, peeled
    1 or 2 bay leaves
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon pepper
Dash ground allspice or ground cloves
    3 large carrots, sliced
    3 ribs celery, chopped
    2 tablespoons cornstarch

Coat beef in cornstarch and place in large pot on med heat sprayed with cooking spray. Brown, you may need to add water to keep from sticking (I use about 1/4 cup). When brown add the onion and garlic and continue to cook for about 5 minutes. Add 2 cups water, boullion, bay leaves and Worcestershire simmer for 90 minutes. Add the additional 2 cups water and bring to a boil. Add carrots and celery and return to simmer for about 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Season with salt, pepper and allspice to taste.
