1 pound ground turkey or chicken (or Smart Ground)
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 jalapeno peppers seeds removed, diced
1 orange or yellow pepper
1 red pepper
1 large onion
1 can black beans
1 can kidney beans
1 can tomato sauce
1 can diced tomatoes or 2 cups fresh tomatoes with seeds removed
1 tbsp canola oil, dash of chili oil for flavor if desired
6 tbsp chili powder, adjust to taste
If you're using Smart Ground you can skip the saute step and just add it straight into the crock pot, broken up. I have found it tends to stick to my saucepan and doesn't brown nicely like poultry will. I've used original and Mexican and both taste good.
Serving Size: Makes about 12 medium bowls (about 1.5 cups each)
