    4-5 med Granny Smith apples cored, chopped or thinly sliced
    2 tsp lemon juice
    3/4 cup sugar
    1 cup water
    3 Tbsp cornstarch
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1/2 tsp nutmeg
    2 pie crusts


This is also good as ice cream topping.
This recipe makes a little more than 2 cups of filling depending on how many apples you use.


Chop or thinly slice apples and add lemon juice so they don't brown.
Mix the rest of the ingredients in a sauce pan and bring to a boil.
Add the apples, reduce heat. Cook til tender @ 8 minutes.
Pour filling into a pie crust then cover with the second pie crust and bake @ 30 minutes 400 degrees.
