Ingredients

    1/2 cup steel cut oats
    1/2 cup yellow moong dal (split moong)
    2 tsp oil
    i tsp mustard seeds
    1 tsp green chilli chopped
    2 tsp garlic chopped
    1 tsp ginger chopped
    4-5 curry leaves
    1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
    1/2 tsp chilli powder
    1/2tsp cumin powder
    1/2 tsp corriander powder
    salt to taste

Directions

1. wash the moong daal and drain all the water.
2.Heat the oil in a pressure cooker, add mustard seeds.
3. when they start spluttering add the green chilli, garlic, ginger, curry leaves, turmeric powder chillipowder, cumin and corriander powder and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
4.Add the oats and yellow moong dal and sauté on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring continuously.
3.Add 4 cups of hot water and salt, mix well and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
4.Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid.
5.Serve immediately with fat-free yogurt.
