Hearty, delicious chili, minus the beans. Hearty, delicious chili, minus the beans.
Number of Servings: 8


    1 pound lean ground beef
    1 cup diced celery
    1 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
    1 small can diced green chilies
    1/4 cup chopped raw onion
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
    3 tsp ground Cumin Seed
    6 tsp Chili powder


Brown ground beef and drain.
Add all ingredients to crock pot and stir. Set on HIGH for 2 hours or LOW for 4 hours so the spices have a chance to really stew.

Serve hot with cheese if you would like.

  • I've made this twice so far-we're big chili eaters! Husband appreciated no beans (but ended up adding some later). I will also dump in a packet of chili seasoning instead of my own spices. Turns out well. Also, to add spice, I'll dump in a small bottle of salsa and one or two cans of diced tomato. - 10/10/12

    Great on hotdog, on pasta, on rice, on baked potato.
    Beans can be added separately for whomever wants them for extra protein and fiber. - 11/4/07
