    wash tomatoes. Boil water, dunk tomatoes for a few minutes, take out and peel. As you do this I have another large pot next to the sink and I crush the tomatoes as I add them.
    Sometimes I use a variety of different types, whatever is ripe from the garden.
    I cook this over med-low heat for a couple of hours to cook down, (simmer). Meantime I cook the lean ground beef, I drain in a strainer and add to the tomatoes I then add the peppers, onions, chili powder,tomato paste, and red pepper to taste. Let simmer for a couple more hours. Serve. Makes 6- 1 1/2 cup servings


can be made in the crockpot with stewed tomatoes.
